Farmhouse meets Pre-War Style

2020 was a strange year. We closed shop until June out of caution and to gauge how the coronavirus would go (and to welcome a foster son!) However, we made up for the break in style! I absolutely love how the projects went last year and am excited to share them with you.

The first client's style was "kind of farmhouse/rustic, but also old-fashioned". I love a challenge! We'll start with the master bedroom and bath.

Working with the existing furniture, we chose a creamy white shiplap on the main wall behind the bed and reflected that look on the opposite wall in the bathroom behind the lavatory. This really tied together the master suite. We also added a simple matte black farmhouse chandelier in the master bedroom to match the barn light sconces over the sink. To bring in the classic, polished look, we used a vanity that had soft curves and was topped with a marble top. The grey in the marble perfectly complemented the matte black faucets and black tiles on the floor. Notice in the mirror the new craftsmen interior doors!

Note the details! I love the old fashioned handle and the old worn look of the tiles.

Moving on to the gorgeous shower: I love the way we laid the linear marble tile. It adds elegance and gives the visual feel of a waterfall.

ABOUT Water's Edge DESIGN

Design can take many forms.  It can be the architecture, materials, colors, textures, CAD designs, hand designs...  Regardless of its form, design is beauty.  Design is creation.  In each of my designs, the goal is to not only create a practical functional space, but one that is enjoyed by all.  One that brings welcome, serenity, and peace...  like the water's edge.
